About me

I took up my role as statutory Director of Children’s Services in Hull City Council in November 2020 having over 27 years’ experience working in children’s services in a variety of local authority settings, for Ofsted, and in various roles. In my current role on a day to day basis, I work alongside and with a range of council leaders, staff, elected members, partners, children, young people, parents and carers to develop and deliver services for all children across the Hull city including the most vulnerable. This includes working with partners through the statutory Hull Safeguarding Children’s Partnership (HSCP) to ensure, as a partnership, we have arrangements in place in Hull to support those children that require help, support and protection. This important statutory function also recognises that agencies work most effectively in partnership. Together we have agreed priorities that demonstrate our common purpose in developing effective services to support children and young people that are vulnerable.
