Course information

To enhance participants understanding on other forms of Honour Based Abuses, Awareness Sessions regarding Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) are available. These courses run concurrently enabling participants to attend each course independently or collectively on the same day.

Target group

All staff who work with and support children, young people and their families and carers.

Course aims
  • To develop an awareness of issues relating to Forced Marriage and Honour Based Violence
  • To increase practitioners confidence in responding appropriately to concerns
Learning outcomes

By the end of the course participants will have -

  • gained an understanding of what Forced Marriage and Honour Based Violence
  • develop an understanding of their cultural complexities
  • consider the impact for children and families involved
  • gained knowledge of how to respond appropriately to concerns
