Course aims

To gain an understanding of harmful sexual behaviours in children and young people and sibling sexual abuse.

Course objectives
  • To consider what are healthy/ unhealthy sexual behaviours, looking at a continuumand using the AIMS Checklist Tool
  • Define sexual abusive behaviours
  • To consider how these behaviours developed and needs they may be meeting
  • To consider sibling sexual abuse and what best practice/ decision making should consist of both for the sibling who has harmed and the sibling who has been harmed
  • To look at safety planning
  • To consider interventions to reduce behaviours
