Course Title Safeguarding Children - Processes, Principles and Dilemmas
Course length 1 day
Target group

All practitioners and managers who make referrals to Targeted Early Help Services and EHASH and are involved in recruiting, supervising and support staff, volunteers and foster carers.

Learning pathway

Before attending this course participants must have attended Safeguarding Children – A Shared Responsibility.

It is also strongly recommended that you attend the Sources of Stress Awareness Courses either prior to or after attendance on this course.

Participants are expected to have an understanding of Hull Safeguarding Children Partnership Procedures and Guidance.

Course details

To develop participants understanding as to how professionals should work together to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
This is a full day course which is interactive and involves individual and group activities, during which participants will be expected to share their skills, knowledge and expertise.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course participants will have -

  • an increased understanding of their individual responsibility and accountability in relation to safeguarding children.
  • explored the need for collaborative working, including the need to share and process information in line with legislative requirements.
  • discussed how confident and assertive practice contributes to safeguarding children.
